Snoopy’s Skating School follows the Learn to Skate USA curriculum and offers excellent on-ice instruction for skaters of all ages and abilities.

To ensure lessons are enjoyable and safe for everyone, Snoopy’s Home Ice recommends all skaters try ice skating during Public Skating Sessions or Parent and Puppy Practice Sessions prior to Learn to Skate Group Lessons. Please refer to the Snoopy’s Home Ice calendar, located online or in the Arena Lobby for Public Skating Session and Parent and Puppy Session times.

When you join Snoopy's Skating School you will enjoy:

  • a fun and safe skating experience for skater of all ages and abilities
  • a structure recognized at over 900 rinks
  • learning the fundamental skills of skating
  • involvement in a sport that promotes health and physical fitness

  • development of the skills necessary to move into the U.S. Figure Skating advanced test and/or competitive structure if desired

  • Hockey Skills (ages 5+; must have passed Basic 1)
  • Adult (ages 16+)
  • Free Skate (ages 5+; must have passed Basic 6 or Adult 6)
  • Dance (must have passed Basic 6 or Adult 6)

Students should be warmly but comfortably dressed wearing a warm-up suit or sweat suit, jacket and gloves or mittens. Skates should be properly fitted and tied snuggly - the ankles should be supported when standing still. Check with your coach or our ice guard staff if you require assistance with skate fitting.

We request that all spectators sit in the bleachers or in the Warm Puppy Café during lessons. Spectators at the railing can be a distraction for students. The safety of all skaters is our main concern and we want all students to learn in a quiet, organized and structured setting.

No new registrations are accepted after the end of the first week of lessons. Lessons cannot be pro-rated and make-up lessons are not provided.

Lesson make-ups are no longer available but skaters may use their Practice Makes Perfect Pass (issued the second week of the Group Lesson Set) to make up for missed lessons. Use your Practice Makes Perfect Pass for free admission to two Public Sessions! The Practice Makes Perfect Pass also offers discounted admission to ALL Public Skating Sessions during the lesson Set. Our skating Ambassadors will be on-hand during Public Sessions to assist with student progress. Students may check in with the Box Office to connect with an Ambassador.

Parents & Puppy Practice: This special group session is offered every Sunday morning and is conducted on a drop-in basis, no pre-registration is required. Children (ages 11 and under) and their parents enjoy a group lesson and a skating session exclusively for beginners.

Coffee Club: A twice weekly adults only session includes a half hour group lesson, open skating for practice and a cup of coffee and donut from the Warm Puppy Café. No pre-registration required and drop-ins are always welcome.

Drop-in Lessons: We offer drop-in lessons and our Skating Ambassadors are prepared to give skaters a refresher lesson or teach beginner skills on an as needed basis. Call the Arena Box Office (707) 546-7147 for times and availability.

Stick Time & Jr. Stick Time: Stick Time is a great opportunity for Hockey players to practice their skills in a non-competitive environment.

Private Lessons: Private Lessons are available to skaters of all skill levels but are usually taken after participation in the group lesson programs. Private instruction is available from the Arena's Coaches and arrangements may be made directly with the Coach.
